| Installation
The installation of Ergomo SportŪ is simple, but does require a
handful of tools and a fair working mechanical knowledge of the
bike. If it sounds to complicated for you, your local bike shop will
be able to do this for you very quickly and at little cost to you.
All that is required is the basic installation of the bottom bracket
(sensor) and the cable that runs up the frame to the handlebars.
- The tools that you will need for job include:
- the Ergomo SportŪ bottom bracket tool that is provided with
your purchase
- 8 mm Allen wrench for the cranks -2 prong, crank cap
remover tool (Shimano or Campagnolo)
- zip ties (provided)
- grease
(for bottom bracket)
Follow these steps, installation will be easy!
- First remove the cap surrounding the nut on the cranks with
the 2-pronged crank cap remover tool. Then remove the cranks by
loosening the nut in the middle of the cranks with the Allen wrench.
Using the bottom bracket tool provided with your Ergomo SportŪ,
remove the bottom bracket by turning the bottom bracket counter
clockwise until it is lose and able to be pulled from the housing.
- Clean out the housing for the bottom bracket with a degreaser
or non-abrasive cleaner.
- Lightly lubricate the Ergomo SportŪ bottom bracket and insert
it into the bottom bracket housing. Do not force it, but gently
screw it into place, clockwise, using the bottom bracket tool
provided. Make sure it is in tight and as flush as it needs to be.
- Run the pick up sensor along the chain stay and wrap it around
the stay until it is tight in a place where it will be accessible to
the sensor you will place on your spokes.
- Run the other wire that's attached to the cradle, for the CPU,
up the bottom tube to the handlebars. Us the zip ties that are
provided to fasten the wires down to the frame and to secure the CPU
cradle to the handlebars in the appropriate position.
- Attach the magnetic sensor to the spokes of your rear wheel in
a position that matches up with the sensor on the seat stay.
- Double check to see that everything is in place, is fastened
down correctly, and put the Ergomo SportŪ CPU into the cradle on
the handlebars. You are ready to roll!
